The brief: Turn an old and faded playground with an iron dragon climbing unit into a new modern playground, using the old George and the Dragon legend as a starting point of the concept and make storytelling prominent within the design. The result: The Botania Playground
After George slayed the dragon, 7 magical tears roll out of the dragon’s eyes and onto the ground. Each tear becomes a different element within the new play area, turning a jaded, gloomy land into a bright, vibrant and happy place. The centre piece of the play area is the Botania play tree, formed by the largest of the dragon’s tears. A magical place for children created by a combination of strong storytelling and stunning design!
