Stoerrr creates a new Kids Club Concept for Regent Hotels & Resorts

Stoerrr is developing a 700 square meter unique Kids Club for The Regent – Hotels & Resorts, a six star Hotel Group. The opening of this resort will be in the spring of 2019.

Every child loves to play and every child loves a good story

That’s why a kids club needs to be more than just cool design and playing units. It needs heart and soul and purpose. A great story telling concept can create this and give the kids club that little bit extra that makes it truly magical…instead of just great.

Stoerrr – Kids Concepts uses storytelling to develop new concepts for Kids Clubs in Hotels and Resorts.

For this resort located on Phu Quoc island – Vietnam we used local elements to strengthen the Concept Story.

A fully Adventure Play Zone with interactive gaming will be build in the Kids Club Play Area, the Vietnam myths such as the Phoenix, The Tortoise, the Unicorn and the Emerald are cultural elements of Vietnam we bring in as a common themes. Besides the Adventure Play Zone, we design & develop the entire interior such as the play rooms, the reception/entrance, washing room, furniture, entertainment programme and a loyalty programme.

Regent Phu Quoc will be in the heart of Phu Quoc Marina, set to be the hottest new destination in Vietnam. The spectacular 400-room waterfront property will bring true luxury to this new lifestyle destination. Exclusive Feature: The Market: The family travel market is booming; In fact it’s the fastest growing niche in the leisure market and with over 115 million holidays a year involving kids it’s also one that cannot be ignored by the hotel industry.

But today’s Parents are spoiled for choice by an overwhelming abundance of child friendly hotels and resorts with animation teams to take care of the kids.

When it comes to the activities organised by the Kids Clubs, traditional arts and crafts are no longer enough to satisfy the new generation of eager learning kids.

Hotels are implementing highly creative and educational programs2, from The Waldorf Astoria’s Gladiator training in Rome, to The Ritz Carlton’s Ocean Futures Society, designed by Jean-Michel Cousteau to create awareness amongst children for environmental issues.

The Kids Clubs of the future are stylishly designed based on Storytelling with a link to nature and with careful planning going into lighting, climate control and air quality. They are a perfect balance between fun and education.

The Nature Kids Club logoWe know now that more people live in cities than in rural areas. A lot of children don’t grow up with natural surroundings or at least within a green environment, they grow up among bricks. It’s up to us to do something about it. We have to educate people on a sublte way. So that a connection with nature will increase the population of happy and healthy children and therefor to have happy and healthy grown ups later on.

The Nature Kids Club is a fun place where kids and their families can spend time enjoying nature and learning new ways to live in harmony with our Earth! Kids can hang out here and really connect with their natural surroundings.

Link indoor with outdoor

To create this affinity with nature we will  always link the interior of a Kids club to an outdoor environment or playground. We design Kids Clubs with an eco, nature and biophilic approach. That means we will implement real nature in the interior & play environment of a hotel Kids Club and use natural materials or materials with eco & safe certificate. All products are sourced from their eco certificate such as Cradle to Cradle or other Eco certificates.

Eco elements

Everything that we design will feature nature friendly and eco elements. From the interior and exterior play units, to workshop products and design products for interior design. It has been scientifically proven that humans need nature or a natural environment to be more happy and healthy, as this frees a lot endorphins which create happiness.  As we also believe in our responsibility to help create physically healthier children, we also add a playful and fun sports and exercise element to our kids club and link this to exciting Outdoor Leisure concepts.

Tree-athlon – a nature leisure concept

Tree-athlon – a fun and exciting outdoor game that connects children and parents directly to nature.

It’s a great way for the whole family to enjoy an activate and educational day outdoors. To experience nature, using all their senses. To see, smell, taste, hear and really feel the beauty of their environment. Tree-athlon is a fun tour of the environment, with a guide and a fun game element. Guests can learn about the Eco-Hotel’s environment and complete simple missions. Kids and parents follow a route in nature where they have to use all their senses to find out the right answers. Using all your senses really frees a lot of endorphins which create an intense feeling of happiness.

It also combines exercise, education and entertainment, which all parents will think is a perfect combination. The objectives are to entertain, enlighten and create amazing experiences and unforgettable holiday memories. Guests can choose from different routes – locations and also between walking, a guided Nature Parkour (with tree climbing – branch hanging), mountain bike riding and even horseback riding.

There can also be a version for the sea environment where local fisherman take out families on the water and guests can learn about the sea life. They can even catch their own dinner and learn to cook it local style back at the resort. Tree-athlon would also create work for people living in the region, who would act as tour guides.

Our programs get kids outside exploring new activities, discovering lifelong skills and connecting with nature.

A Kids Club Concept for Rocco Forte Hotels & Resorts

In this Kids Club we combine active play, fun learning, healthy eating and relaxation with a storytelling journey through everything that makes Sicily such an amazing tourist destination. Our Storyteller will be Verdu the hedgehog, the symbol of the kids club.

The Vedura family program

The Vedura family program has a lot of different themes on offer, such as History, Astronomy, language, gardening, food and cooking, arts and sports.  We propose to infuse all these elements within the Kids Club Design.
We will do this with a strong local character to reflect all the ingredients that make Sicily so alluring to families. We want to infuse the passion, fun, love of food, great sense of history, beautiful nature and rich past and achievements of Sicily within the Kids Club. We will also bring nature back into the interior, using natural greens and browns, peaceful sea blues and warm yellow and reds that reflect the passion and zest of Sicily.
This way a kids club can become a powerful tool to inspire, captivate and ensure that families will get an unforgettable holiday and remain happy and loyal customers to the Rocco Forte Hotel brand.

 

Ten+ Youth Club

Children from 10-16 want to be active physically, communicate with each other digitally,
to hang out socially and have fun.

The Ten+ Youth Club has been designed specifically for hotels who are looking to
accommodate children of the age group 10-16, but only have a small area available to do this. Stoerrr uses innovative design and the latest play technology to captivate,
stimulate and educate children.

In the The Ten+ Youth Club kids are in control and can decide themselves what they need to be happy during their stay. If they are feeling active they can test their strength, speed and agility with the latest high tech climbing wall. An interactive digital game also provides them with an unlimited range of physical options, from trying their hand at the latest dance moves to a range of sports and fun activities.

The Ten+ Youth Club can be expanded with a Teenage Test Lab theme days, where they can test and try out new products. These could be food & beverage, games, educational apps, sneakers, clothes and toys. Manufacturers/brands would host events such as kids cooking labs, new game or e-learning apps testing, sneaker testing and playing with the latest cool new toys. The hotel staff would not be burdened with extra work as the brand employees themselves would take care of the Lab.

Food and Beverage

The Ten+ Youth Club can be a great tool to persuade parents to choose which Hotel to stay as their preferred location for a weekend family brunch.  Together with our partner Mocinno International we can create a tight link between the club and the brunch to create continuity, awareness and help increase F&B revenue.

Scalability

The Ten+ Youth Club can work in every city and can also be easily adapted to work in different size areas.
